Mi Vida Loca!!!!

Well, that is about how my life has been for the last couple of months. Let me just catch everyone up on what I have been doing.

Christmas was very quiet this year. Bud was on vacation, Becky and Tim were in San Diego as well as Chelsea and Danny. Anne and Katie were at home with their families. So it was only my dad and I. Until about 7 then Becky, Tim and Adalyn showed up for dinner.

School started on the 5th of Jan. This semester, I am working on my senior thesis. The topic of my senior thesis is "Bilingual Bicultural Approach to the Education of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children, For Doctors Parents and Teachers."

I have the head of the Deaf Education Department working as my supervisor, Dr. King. He is very supportive and is impressed by what I choose to do, but for some of you who know him, he can be very blunt and really brutally honest, ok, he is mean, to a point or aka "tough love". He is pushing to get the best out of me, on this project, because after I write this, I will be putting together a pamphlet to give to the Drs. and teachers. Don't get me wrong, I want to give my best, but if I am confused by some of what he is saying, we have miscommunications and then it is harder.

My other classes are going very well, though they are just as busy. I am in ASL 3, which has about 25 projects for us to do, ok I am exaggerating, its more like 12. But this means you need to reserve time to go and sign the projects. I am in an Infancy and toddler class which is so much fun, my teacher is actually pregnant, and she will hopefully have her baby around spring break. She will continue to have class after she has her baby boy, she will just bring him along.

My other class is Psychology of the Deaf, which is a stupid name, because they are just like everyone else, except that they can't hear. I am teaching one class period in this class, and my subject is quite depressing. I am teaching on grief. I have come up with a really good object lesson, which I think is hilarious. I am bringing in donuts, which I will start to pass out, then I won't let them have any. they will be dissappointed, which fits in with the grieving process. This might seem rude, espaecailly since my class is at 9:00am, and I am teaching on Monday.

All my cats are doing fine, Danny and Chelsea had my name for Christmas, where are family draws names. I also had their names as well. They sent me a really nice scarf, and a 30 dollar gift card to Barnes and Noble. I bought five books with it. Oliver Twist, The Road, The Brothers Kosomovao (or something like that) and Count of Monte Cristo, I can't think of the other one.

They also sent my cats some treats and toys. They bought thier favorite treat too. Its interesting they perfer that flavor over the others. The toys were a big hit, they actually fought over them. I will post pictures later since I am at school, waiting to see Dr. King.

Katie and Brian and her family surprized me with a $50.00 gift card from lane Bryant, since I have lost 60lbs, since June, and all my clothes are starting to fall off. Thanks for that Katie and Brain, I got new shirts that are cute and in a smaller size!!!

I am also in the process of getting ready to take the MAT aka Millers Analogy Test to apply for grad school in the SEIMs program aka Sensory Empairment Intervention Masters. With this I will be certified to work with Deaf children to the age of three, I will also get a teaching license as well so I can teach preschool.

I also want you to know that I am grateful for the support and friendship I have had from each of you. You have been there for me, and have encouraged me when I could go no further. On that note, I am very grateful to Heavenly Father for all the blessings He has given me, which is each one of you. I am very blessed. I am happy with my life, and have accepted me as me.

As a side note, if you get this far in reading this. My other blog, Recipes to Share, needs recipes. I have been asked by family members for some of my moms recipes, and other family favorites. I have thought that the best way to go about this is doing it on a blog, so everyone can contribute. If you want to contribute, please email me and I will add your name to the contributers list. Then we can all have access to tried and true great recipes.

Thanks again everyone.
